The protected filter head and bowl threads of the Pilot Compressed Air Filtration Series allows for easy bowl removal for element replacement. The large cross section of flow channels ensures reduced pressure drop, while the pressure relief device allows for safe removal of the filter bowl. Additional features include a hexagonal filter bowl clamp ring and anodised aluminium filter bodies (inside and out) to prevent corrosion. External surfaces are powder coated, plus modular facility for simple series connection of multiple filters or wall mounting.

    Filter element features include:

    • Large surface area and in-depth bed filtration for high efficiency and low pressure drop.
    • Double (inner and outer) polyester needle felt sock suitable for high temperatures (120 ̊C) and resistant to synthetic oils.
    • Push on element with double O-ring for speedy element replacement and air tight connection.
    • Four grades of filtration to cover all requirements for clean compressed air in respect of ISO 8573.1.
    • Silicone-free manufacturing.
    • Colour coded. No mistakes when replacing elements.

    Frequently asked questions

What makes the Pilot Carbon Filter “Built for Australian conditions”?

The Pilot Activated Carbon Industrial Air Filter Series Z is designed to endure harsh Australian climates, featuring anodised aluminium bodies (inside and out) for corrosion resistance, powder-coated external surfaces, and filter elements able to withstand high temperatures — making it trusted by industrial customers in Sydney and across NSW.

What level of oil vapour and odour removal does the Carbon Filter provide?

When installed after an (X) grade filter, the Series Z Activated Carbon Filter lowers the maximum residual oil content to 0.005 mg/m³, effectively removing oil vapours and odours from the compressed air stream.

What flow rates and connection options are available for this filter?

The Pilot Carbon Filter Series Z offers a wide range of models — from 14.1 L/sec (≈ 30 SCFM) up to 699.8 L/sec (≈ 1,483 SCFM) — with various BSP female connections (¾″ to 3″), sized to suit both small workshops and heavy-duty industrial plants in Sydney.

What safety and usability features does the Series Z filter include?

The Series Z Carbon Filter includes protected filter head and bowl threads for safe element replacement, a pressure relief device, large flow channels to minimise pressure drop, double-O-ring sealing for airtight connections, and colour-coded elements to prevent mistakes — reliable features valued by Sydney-based operations.

How should I maintain the Carbon Filter for long-term performance?

To ensure your Pilot Carbon Filter Series Z continues to perform well, regularly replace the activated carbon cartridges as per usage and condition, inspect and preserve the bowl and seals, monitor pressure drop to know when elements are saturated, and ensure proper upstream filtration. Spare parts and maintenance support are available throughout Sydney.
